Service 02 · The map pack

Rank where the buying happens.

When a facility manager needs the lot repaved, they don't browse. They search "commercial paving [city]", look at the three businesses on the map, and call the one that looks most alive. That map pack is the highest-intent real estate in your market — and position in it is earned mechanically, not by luck.

Anatomy

What buyers see in the three seconds before they call.

Mechanics

Google ranks the pack on three levers. We pull all three.

Google's own documentation names them: relevance, distance, prominence. You can't move your building — but the other two, and how far your relevance radius stretches, are built.

lever 1 Relevance Do you clearly do what was searched for? → right categories, primary first → every service named on the profile → a page per service on the site → review text that repeats the words buyers search with lever 2 Distance How far are you from the searcher? → can't move the shop — but strong signals stretch how far you rank → city pages catch searches the map won't carry you to → we measure by grid, not from HQ lever 3 Prominence How well-known and well-reviewed are you? → review volume, rating, recency → consistent citations across the web → links and mentions from real local and industry sources → an active, growing profile

Coverage

Ranked from your office chair is not ranked.

Most owners check their ranking from their own desk — where Google flatters them. Real coverage is measured on a grid across the service area: the same search run from dozens of points. That's how we audit, and that's the picture we move.

Foundations

One identity, everywhere the machines look.

Google — and every AI engine — cross-checks you against the wider web: directories, data aggregators, industry listings. If your name, address and phone differ between them, trust leaks. We find every listing, fix every mismatch, and fill the gaps that matter for your trade.

Outcomes

What this buys you.

Calls with intent

Map-pack searchers are buyers, not browsers — they searched because they need the work done.

The whole territory

Coverage measured and grown across your real service area — not just the block around the shop.

Position that defends itself

Rankings built on reviews, content and consistency don't vanish when a competitor buys ads.

The audit includes a grid scan of your money searches across your service area — most owners are surprised how small their real footprint is. You'll see exactly where the calls are going instead, and what it takes to change that.
